Artist Biography

Victoria Banjavcic is a costume technician, jewelry designer, and milliner based out of Toronto, Ontario. She received her BFA in Performance Production from Ryerson University, where she majored in Costuming. She also has a certificate in Millinery from George Brown College, and in 2013 was the Millinery Work Study at The Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta. Victoria has designed and built costumes for Terry Pratchett’s Monstrous Regiment (Socratic Theatre Collective, 2013), If We Were Birds (Randolph Academy, 2013), and Brother Andre’s Heart (Duchess Productions, 2011), and has worked on such Ryerson shows as Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum, Red Noses, The Hostage, and the annual period study workshops. Victoria has also taken special interest courses to continue refining her skills at the Stratford Festival and George Brown College, and specializes in fantasy and recreation costuming.

Victoria has also helped foster the local fandom costuming community by volunteering backstage at the local convention masquerades (costume competitions) since 2004, as well as teaching workshops on basic costuming, introductory pattern drafting, props, and costume breakdown and aging. She is available upon request to participate in convention programing on any of these topics.
